GEOLOGY
The study of the earth’s crust, the way its layers were formed, and including the study of rocks and fossils. Rocks, minerals, fossils, and gemstones from around the world will be viewed and discussed. Then a hayride around the ranch will give each guest the opportunity to view and collect local substrates.
Additional and exciting activities available for students:
Class A) $0.75 * Photos *
1) "Real" horse painting - We supply the horse and tempera paints, the students enjoy the rest! This is a perfect photo opportunity and the parents really enjoy copies.
Class B) $1.00 * Photos *
1) Grubbing for gems -Each student is provided a seine filled with earth, rocks, and rough gemstones. They "pan" in the water troughs to find the valuable rocks!
2) "The all American pig
chase" - Les' face it folks, this activity has been around since beginning of time. Piglets are ready when you are!
Class C) $2.00 * Photos *
1) Panning for gold - Each student is provided a pan filled with earth, rocks, and gold (pyrite) chips. They "pan" in the water troughs to find the chips!
2) Build a rock and fossil layer cake - Soda bottles and plaster are used and each student gets to make and take his very own sedimentary creation home.
3) Pony rides - These rides can sometimes be a student's first experience with horses and an everlasting one.
