Graystone Ranch is a family owned and
operated Christian,
non-profit organization dedicated to children, "our tomorrow"
and environmental/wildlife conservation. We are a state and federally
licensed rehabilitation center, sanctuary, and preserve.
|
Our greatest
mission is education where animals and man learn to co-exist,
("share the planet") in peace
and harmony. We call this "The Share The Planet" program.
Graystone Ranch touches the lives of over 500,000 people
yearly, logs more than 150,000 education
hours, and rescue over 3,000 animals yearly.
Project Animal Lifeline
was established originally as a haven for unwanted and/or injured
pets. It expanded, including farm animals, reptiles and exotic
animals, because of necessity. Our greatest joy is our latest endeavor
into Georgia's native wildlife. The strict laws protecting Georgia's
native wildlife makes it illegal to capture, house, or attempt
rehabilitation without a permit. Many of Georgia's injured and/or
orphaned wildlife perishes. As a rehabilitation facility, Graystone
Ranch is licensed to accept all Noah's Ark descendents except domestic
dogs and cats (many shelters exist for domestic dogs and cats). We are
thrilled to be an active part in preserving Georgia's wildlife. All
animals received by the facility undergo a full evaluation and qualify
for re-release, placement, or residency in the facility's educational
programs division.
Graystone Ranch is not, nor will be in
the future, an animal rights' activist group. We are environmentalists
genuinely concerned about animal welfare, and a Christian facility,
understanding God's intent for man to have domination over animals.
Through the understanding of dominion and God's grace, come
stewardship, love, and compassion. It's only when we loose sight of
God's original design and elevate animals to equality with man (and
even sometimes above man), the balance between man and beast is lost,
and in turn, Christian values are also lost!!!!! |
